Fully Licensed
Footsteps Family Centre is a fully licensed child care centre that accommodates 41 child care spaces. We are a non-profit organization offering full-time and part-time child care programming for children up to the age of 4 years. Located in Thunder Bay, our centre has been serving the community for 32 years now.
Care for Special Needs Children
Every child is unique, and our child care centre offers services that reflect the diversity of our community. We welcome all children to our facility. A resource consultant visits weekly to collaborate with families and educators, supporting children with special needs and physical disabilities. We coordinate our resources to ensure every child receives the care they deserve.
Professional Staff
All of our early childhood educators are members of the College for Early Childhood Educators and are trained and certified in first aid and CPR, meaning you can rest assured your child is properly taken care of by professionals. Footsteps Family Centre also places great emphasis on the professional development of its educators.
Early Learning
We follow Ontario’s “How Does Learning Happen?” framework, focusing on belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression to create a nurturing, play-based environment that supports each child’s growth and development.
Fun Activities
Children enjoy play-based, inquiry-driven learning through child-led discovery and exploration. Our natural outdoor play space encourages creativity, movement, and connection with nature — making every day fun and enriching.
How to Register with Footsteps Family Centre
